Learning That Begins From Within
Opening in Tucson, Fall 2026
Bodymind Microschools is a new kind of middle school designed for girls in Grades 5–8 who learn differently, feel deeply, and seek something more. Our flagship site in Oro Valley, Arizona is preparing to open for the 2026–2027 school year. Rooted in whole-child development, we integrate individualized academics, embodied awareness, and grounded spirituality to support real growth from the inside out.
Individualized Learning
Each student’s learning plan is co-created with their teacher and family, centering their unique strengths, interests, and learning needs. Students work closely with their teacher to set goals, monitor progress, and reflect on their growth, building a deep sense of ownership, clarity, and confidence in how they learn. This approach supports a wide range of learning profiles, including students with learning disabilities, ensuring that each child receives what they need to thrive. By honoring multiple ways of learning, we create an environment where each student feels seen, supported, and empowered to grow at their own pace.
Embodied Awareness
Students develop focus, presence, and self-awareness through somatic experiences that are part of the natural flow of the school day, including yoga, breathwork, and contemplative practices. Over time, they build mastery in regulating their energy, emotions, and attention, developing a personal toolkit they can carry into life beyond the classroom. These practices support nervous system regulation, emotional clarity, and the bodymind connection essential for meaningful learning and lasting well-being. Through this daily integration of movement and stillness, students learn to inhabit their bodies with confidence and recognize their inner state as a key part of the learning process.
Grounded Spirituality
Spiritual development is honored as an essential dimension of learning, one that is largely overlooked in most contemporary education systems. Students are supported in listening to and experiencing their own inner light through practices of reflection, stillness, and meaning-making. Our approach draws from universal wisdom traditions and nature-based ways of knowing, creating space for age-appropriate spiritual exploration. As a school for young women, we uplift expressions of the Divine Feminine as they appear across cultures and archetypes, nurturing reverence, intuition, and a sense of sacred belonging.
Rooted in Presence
At Bodymind Microschools, students slow down, tune in, and learn to trust the quiet wisdom within. Through stillness, breath, and self-reflection, they develop a sense of grounded awareness they can carry with them into the world.
Learning in Community
Our school is a sanctuary for connection—where girls support each other, celebrate differences, and grow together through shared discovery, curiosity, and care.
